More than 24,000 children on DNA database

According to this article, from the Leicester Mercury, more than 24,000 childrens' DNA records are being stored nationally. This is unacceptable:

The Mercury is awaiting a response from the Association of Chief Police Officers on how people could find out if their child was on the database and how they could get them removed.

Figures for the number of innocent adults on the database were not provided by the Home Office.

The Mercury is putting in a freedom of information request to the Home Office and police for these figures.
