It's looking like Blair may have to rely on the Tories

Today's Guardian reports that it's looking increasingly likely that Blair & Co will have to rely on Tory votes to pass their education bill. Backbenchers will not like that:

Downing Street and Ruth Kelly, the education secretary, have dug their heels in against further concessions before March 15 and loyalists believe - or hope - that the 50-70 MPs said to be holding out can be whittled down to below 35, enough to ensure the bill can be carried on Labour votes alone.

Will the backbenchers stick to their guns? Will Blair & Co have to rely on Tories to pass this legislation? I expect there'll be fireworks after the vote.
