Brazilian president to urge farm subsidies reform

    This report from CNN:

Sure to be on the agenda later in the week for Silva's visit is the police killing last summer of Jean Charles de Menezes, 27, gunned down by officers who mistook him for a suicide bomber two weeks after the deadly attacks on London's transport system.

Silva said he will urge Britain to back Brazil's campaign to push the European Union and the WTO to require cuts in agricultural tariffs and subsidies. Blair, who has been pressing hard on the issue in both venues, is likely to be sympathetic.

"I'll have a long talk with Tony Blair about the WTO," Silva said Monday in his weekly radio program, "Breakfast with the President," before leaving Brazil for London.
