Afghanistan - "liberated"?
Think again. This report from today's Guardian takes a look at a convert to Christianity who is facing the death penalty. I guess Christian converts in Afghanistan are so thrilled that the US decided to invade, and "liberate" them:
A man could be sentenced to death after being charged with converting from Islam to Christianity, a crime under Afghanistan's shariah laws, a judge said yesterday. The trial is thought to be the first of its kind in Afghanistan and highlights a struggle between religious conservatives and reformists over what shape Islam will take four years after the fall of the TalibanI wonder what the so called "religious right" have to say about this. They were complaining the loudest about Sharia law in Afghanistan before the invasion, do they still consider their crusade a success? See all recent "A Logical Voice" posts
