300 jobs axed at Cornish hospitals trust

Thanks to a Blairite initiative, the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust has run up debts of £8.1 million, as well as the loss of 300 jobs from the trust, it will also be forced to close wards, and operating theatres. That's New Labour for you. From Inside Public:

The debts been caused a lack of government funding for the trust based on the Market Forces Factor (MFF), which assumes it costs less to pay staff in rural areas.

In reality NHS staff are paid according to a national wage scale and this difference meant the trust ran up the huge debts.
