No, Mr Murray, this time I don't agree

Regular readers of "A Logical Voice" will be aware that I have a lot of respect for our former ambassador to Uzbekistan, Craig Murray. But when he makes the argument in this blog posting, that those troops involved in that vicious beating of the young Iraqis 2 years ago should not face prosecution, I do not agree. Mr Murray makes some very valid points that American troops are rather more trigger happy, and that Bush and Blair themselves should face trail for their crimes against humanity, but, when he suggests that British troops should not face prosecution for their crimes, well, that is just morally, and ethically wrong. In the grand scheme of things, to mr Murray, these crimes may not seem so major, but when all the "small crimes" such as this are added up, they amount to a serious kick in the teeth for human rights, and to the rule of law. To ignore each "small crime", which contributes to the overall level of lawlessness, is, in my opinion to ignore the contributing factors to the large scale breaches of law in Iraq. Mr Murray, please reconsider your response to these crimes. See all recent "A Logical Voice" posts
