    I don't often agree with a Tory

But I have to say, William Hague is quite right when he said that Blair & Co's so called "glorification of terror" plans are merely "ineffective authoritarianism", as Politics.co.uk reports:

Mr Hague, standing in for David Cameron in the Commons, asked: "Would not it be better to have a watertight law designed to catch the guilty rather than a press-release law designed to catch the headlines?"

Indeed, Jez, plenty of hypocrisy as usual. However, he is right when he says this "glorifiaction" is "ineffective authoritarianism".

Alternatively, you could describe this "glorification" offence as "effective", depending on how the law is used, and what motivated Blair & Co to propose such a terrible offence.

It's interesting how they want to make it an offence to 'glorify terrorism' (presumably islamist), but as we recently discussed on my blog, there's no offence of religious discrimination.
