Gordon Brown confirms he won't be any different to Blair

According to this article, from the Daily Mirror, Gordon Brown has confirmed that he, like Blair, has no intentions of listening to thousands of grassroots Labour Party members:

He insisted New Labour must not be knocked off the centre ground of politics but signalled a Brown premiership will be different. And he ruled out going to the House of Lords, saying: "I'm not interested." Sharing shortbread with his son, Mr Brown said: "New Labour is going to be on the centre ground. We are appealing to people right across the community." And he said he is determined to re-connect with the public: "I am going out and I am listening, I am learning and I am hearing."
