    Culture secretary's husband investigated on bribery charges

    Some time ago we informed readers that the husband of our culture secretary, Tessa Jowell was being investigated on bribery charges, which are also linked to Italian prime minister, Silvio, Berlusconi, The Guardian today has an update on the story:

    Metropolitan Police officers on Friday seized equipment and files from the London office of corporate lawyer David Mills, a former legal adviser to Berlusconi. Mr Mills is being investigated by Italian authorities over accusations that he received a payment of around £400,000 in 1997 to give false testimony in two trials involving the controversial premier.
