    Cartoon Editor, Flemming Rose and the PNAC

    It turns out the editor who originally publshed the "offensive" Muslim cartoons is a disciple of Daniel Pipes and the "clash of civilizations" theory put out by Project for a New American Century. PNAC is the outfit that called for a "Pearl Harbor event' in order to initiate a global war against the Muslim world.

    That conection is interesting and frankly not really surprising. But i don't think it adds up to some kind of neo-con conspiracy. I'm not saying this what you're advocating only that other sites have.That's going beyond what the facts in the case warrant. But the facts do indicate that Jyllands Posten's publication was actionable in a Danish court of law. If only the Islamic hotheads had the patience to take it through the proper i.e. judicial channels. Instead they foolishly shot themselves in the foot by taking the cartoons on a Middle Eastern road show and

    You are quite right to say that connection does not equal conspiracy.

    As for the reaction in the Middle East, I am not excusing it, but it did not occur in a political vacuum. I think it just might be possible that there have been a few other events over the years that built up to this one (say, starting from 53 years ago at least).;)

    Let us not for forget, too, that those hotheads don't hold the monoploy on hotheadedness. Recall fire bombings at U.S. abortion clinics, or the fire bombing of the Paris theatre showing the Last Temptation of Christ.
