"911" hijacker: Bush regime obstructed information to FBI

Most people are aware that the attacks of 11th September 2001 could have been prevented, and some people know about a Pentagon unit called "Able Danger" set up to investigate Al Qaeda. What hasn't come to light however, until now that is, is the extent to which the Bush regime were aware of Able Danger. According to this article, from Aljazeera, Able Danger picked up on Mohammed Atta, and his links to Al Qaeda 13 times, and there were apparently several attempts to pass on information to the FBI. It seems Bush regime lawyers prevented this information from being passed to the FBI. Why did the Bush regime want to obstruct the flow of information which could help to prevent an attack?
