    Plot to kill Hugo Chavez

This report from The Australian: Plot against Venezuela president

Mr Chacon said intelligence reports indicated that opposition members linked to businessman Pedro Carmona - who led a de facto government that replaced Mr Chavez after a failed two-day coup against him in 2002 - are meeting with the Colombian insurgents to hatch an assassination plot against Mr Chavez. The interior chief also linked dissident Venezuelan military staff to the alleged plot, which he said had no link to the Colombian government. He said the assassination plot had become a more pressing concern given Mr Chavez's high popularity rating, which polls say tops 70 per cent.
And these intelligence reports apparently come at a time when new oil reserves have been discovered in Venezuela. Now, who would benefit from regime change in Venezuela I wonder. See all recent "A Logical Voice" posts

Except maybe the Venezuelan people, who appear to support Hugo Chavez.

I'd comment, but I'd just be repeating you, Voice. I wonder just exactly what Chavez's crimes are?
