African Union rejects calls for action on Zimbabwe

The situation in Zimbabwe quite obviously needs addressing by the African Union nations. They are best placed to help with the huge problems. The Guardian reports however, that the African Union doesn't seem to want to commit to tackling the problems:

But Britain's position was weakened yesterday by a Zimbabwean archbishop, who urged it to stop sending failed asylum seekers back to the Mugabe regime. The Archbishop of Bulawayo, Pius A Ncube, said those deported would be persecuted by the Mugabe regime as "traitors". "People who were asylum seekers in Britain and are returned have been detained by police in Zimbabwe, some being tortured and forced to confess that they were in anti-government activities." Mr Ncube told Channel 4 that Zimbabwe was beginning to resemble Pol Pot's Cambodia. He said Mr Mugabe's policy of driving people out to the countryside "is extremely cruel and it is very much like Pol Pot and this will lead to people starving".
Considering that Blair & Co are claiming at the moment that Africa is a top priority, they should be putting pressure on the African Union on the Zimbabwe issue, and at the same time they should stop sending people back to the country who quite obviously could face persecution. I'm surprised Ncube hasn't met with an "accident". Brave man.

Of course Mugabe is black so it's not PC to criticise him, certainly can't expect an idiot like Mbeki to take a leadership position.

Why is it not PC to critise a black man? That's a pretty ridiculous notion. I know it's not PC to critise Bush. If you do, you'll have the anti-PC PC crowd after you like flies on shit.

    Rubbish.

A while back the Guardian (or maybe The Independent) sent a guy to interview Ian Smith in Harare.
Quite interesting but the interviewer blew it at the end of the piece when he summarised that for all his faults, Zimbabwe was better off than Rhodesia because they now had an African as "boss".

The southern African states have shown repeatedly that solidarity with one another is far more important than any criticism of neighbours.

Zim has gone to the dogs, SA will be next, the farm invasions are already starting; Botswana and Namibia aren't far behind. Then of course when they'e destroyed their countries they will expect the west to feed them.

What is Rubbish? The first post? The Second? The third? Do you have another catchphrase other than "Rubbish" or "Twaddle"?

As for what you are trying to say, it's a little unclear. Are you calling for colonialisation?
