    US and Italy disagree on shooting

    According to this article, from today's Guardin, the US and Italy disagree on the US version of events surrounding the killing of an Italian intelligence agent, and the shooting of an Italian journalist:

    From the beginning the US and Italian accounts of what happened differed widely. The Americans said the car was speeding, and did not respond to hand signals, flashing lights and warning shots. Furthermore, US military officials said they had not been informed of the car's approach. However, Ms Sgrena, a left-wing journalist whose newspaper has frequently been critical of Italy's intelligence services, said the car was moving at a moderate speed. Italian officials have said the Americans had been warned the car would be heading to the airport. The CBS television network reported yesterday that satellite data had shown the car had been travelling at about 60mph. But the report claimed Italian investigators had refused to accept that the US soldiers were justified in shooting so quickly, and had argued that the checkpoint had not been clearly marked.

    I'm reading that Reuters has stated that there is satellite evidence showing that the car was travelling at 60mph as it approached the US soldiers.
    Two things come to mind:
    If the Yanks wanted her dead, she'd be dead;
    The car was driven by an Italian.

    Is it like the satellite evidence that Iraqi troops were amassing on the Saudi Border in 1991? Or the satellite evidence that Iraqi was rebuilding its WMD programs?

    Two things come to mind:
    If the Yanks wanted to stop the car, they'd have shot it. They did.
    The bit about Italians is pure stereotype-tripe.

    Even Al Jazz reports speeding.

    The woman should be glad she's alive and just shut up instead of lying to promote her agenda, likewise the Italian authorities are being used by those who oppose their government's position.

    Funny that. I read the article and Al Jazeera doesn't report that she was speeding. They mention that CBS claims to have satellite data showing that she was speeding (scroll up). That's funny, too. I'm having trouble keeping up with you guys. First CBS is bad, now it's good. Is there a website I can check with daily updates that tells me what news outlets are acceptable?
