    Two things come to mind:
    1. Have the EU fishing regulations, opening up UK waters to French & Spanish fleets had a harmful effect or accelerated harmful effects ?

    2. Why are windfarms a threat to marine life ? Their construction could have a local effect in the inshore region but what else ?

Good questions, i'll have to get back to you after i've done a bit of research on those things.

I would think that opening up to increased fishing pressures would be harmful to pelagic species unless the agreement was for a lowered total catch. Voice?

Wind farms could be a threat, but most likely during construction. Barring some unforeseen environmental consequence, the impact is likely to be minimal.

Well, those points certainly appear to make sense djeb, i'll try and find some further information on the issue.
